Glace Bay is a community located along the eastern side of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. The population is around 17,000 residents. The city was founded in 1785, incorporated in 1901, and then amalgamated in 1995. In the early days of Glace Bay, coal mining was the biggest part of the economy. Fishing was also an essential part of the region.

Currently, one of the largest employers in Glace Bay is Concentrix. There is also a large call centre in the city, along with a coal mine that reopened in 2016.
